And this, not only because Obama will prove to be as &quot;American&quot; as the apple pie, but also because not even the enormous credit he&#039;s been given in Europe will be enough to reverse Europeans&#039; attitudes towards crucial topics like, say, Afghanistan. And I suspect he&#039;s going to disappoint Europeans on climate change in Copenhagen, a crucial step when it comes to expectations and priorities on this side of the Atlantic. I suspect that for the larger public it won&#039;t be easy, at that point, to distinguish between the &quot;good&quot; President and the &quot;bad&quot; Congress.
